Graduate students may be eligible for research or teaching assistantships that are partially funded by the federal government through the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program. The application process varies by school and department, as follows:
| School/Department | Application Process |
|---|---|
Humanities & Sciences |
Students must obtain recommendations from the Assistant Dean of Humanities & Sciences |
Art, East Asian Studies, Latin American Studies |
Students must obtain recommendations from the department administrator |
Education, Engineering |
Students will be selected by their school from a list of eligible students provided by the Financial Aid Office |
If you receive a recommendation to be considered for FWS eligibility, you should then complete all application requirements under the Applying for Aid section and await confirmation of eligibility from the Financial Aid Office. The filing requirements for FWS applicants are the same as for student loan applicants.
